Here's why I'll be rocking this $88 quilted jacket from MPG Sport all winter long

There's no denying that jackets are an important part of every Canadian's wardrobe.
I had been looking for a versatile jacket that could transition from fall to winter with ease, so when the opportunity came to try out one of MPG Sport's newest styles, I knew I had to give it a shot. I tested out the Grace Quilted Jacket, which retails for $88 and is currently available in Washed Marsala, a vintage-inspired salmon colour.
Read on to find out what I thought about this sweater-jacket hybrid.
Grace Quilted Jacket
The details
For days when layering up is top of mind, the Grace Quilted Jacket might just become your new go-to. Since it's made from a soft polyester knit that feels like your most lived-in sweats, it's a great choice that can be worn as your final layer on warm days, or more like a sweater when the temperature starts to dip.
It features a quilted design and a high neckline, plus a relaxed fit that makes it easy to throw on over your chunkiest sweaters and hoodies. This jacket also has two large pockets that can easily hold a cell phone and wallet so you can stay hands-free on all your winter adventures.

First impressions
When the brand calls this jacket a relaxed fit, they really mean it. I got the jacket in my usual size small, and found that it could easily accommodate somebody one to two sizes larger, so keep that in mind when you're choosing a size. If you do prefer a more fitted look to your outerwear, you'll definitely want to size down.
Since things quickly took a turn for the chillier here in Toronto, I haven't been wearing this jacket outdoors very much. That said, it's earned a permanent spot on the back of my office chair to throw on in the mornings as my apartment begins heating up.
It's the perfect weight that doesn't leave me feeling overheated, and the quilted exterior feels more like a blanket than a sweater — perfect for those early morning wake-ups.
Final thoughts
If I were to order another one of these jackets I would probably opt for a size X-Small for my preferred fit. I agree with reviewers who have said that it's "very well made [but] does run large," which makes it easy to wear over multiple layers but isn't necessarily the most polished.
