Katie Hopkins has caused outrage by comparing Meghan Markle to a child rape victim, on Child Sexual Exploitation Awareness Day.

The controversial personality, 43, managed to ruffle feathers on social media yet again, when she posted a vile message to her followers.

As usual, Hopkins got the attention she desired, after making a bizarre comparison of future royal Meghan Markle, 36, to a child rape victim.

‘Meghan Markle will be preggers faster than an 11yr old white girl in #Telford’

Naturally, people who saw the tweet were disgusted, especially on Child Sexual Exploitation Awareness Day when serious awareness is intended to be raised, not mocked. But apparently the former Apprentice contestant claimed she didn’t ‘give a damn’ what day it was.

MP Lucy Allan tweeted Hopkins her disgust at her. ‘Please take down this vile tweet’, she began.

‘Lack of respect for victims is the cause of this horrific crime and is why it is not identified and prosecuted.’

But in typical Hopkins fashion she hit back with a biting reply. ‘Be outraged,’ she said.

‘It’s another day where our daughters are gang raped by majority Pakistani men,’ she controversially claimed.

Despite Hopkins claiming to care about the victims of child exploitation, the notion of tweeting a joke about being raped and impregnated suggests she’s happy to make light of the situation.

MP Lucy Allan is the representative for Shropshire and is at the heart of tackling child grooming gangs and has spoken at length about the need to address and protect vulnerable children in positions of exploitation.

Hopkins also couldn’t resist taking a pop at telly star Ant McPartlin after his drink-driving arrest, calling the media ‘sycophantic’ and demanded be deserved no sympathy.

The former reality star did tweet a screenshot of someone having reported her tweet but, as per Twitter guidelines, she hadn’t broken any of their rules of use.

In February, Hopkins was allegedly detained in South Africa after visiting to document the violence she claimed was perpetrated against white farmers, vowing to expose the issue. Upon leaving, she was held for ‘spreading racial hatred’.

She also angered Tom Daley and husband Dustin Lance Black as she joked about the pair’s surrogacy.
