Move Over Nature's Cereal, Lizzo's Winter Nature's Oatmeal Version Is So Much Better

Remember so-called "nature's cereal"? The breakfast trend first began cropping up on TikTok in March 2021, and not everyone was a fan.

The "cereal" was made up of fresh berries like raspberries, blueberries and pomegranate seeds (so far, so good) and... ice cubes. The "milk" was coconut water, and although this does sound refreshing, it's not really a substitute for a bowl of Crunchy Nut, is it?

Almost two years on, singer Lizzo has revamped the original formula to make it creamy, cosy and pretty tasty-looking.

Lizzo posted the video on TikTok, saying to her followers: "So let me tell y'all about my new food fixation. I'm going to call this nature's oatmeal."

She starts with a big dollop of coconut yoghurt, followed by flax and chia seeds. The bowl of yoghurt and seeds then goes in the fridge until it's creamy and thick, and is then topped with blackberries, blueberries and pomegranate seeds. She then folds the fruit into the yog and tops with sliced ripe bananas, cinnamon and a generous drizzle of honey.

OK, it's not exactly oatmeal (where are the oats, Lizzo?) but it does sound like a nice breakfast.

Lizzo herself says "it's literally SO good" in the video, although she does admit she'll be back to her "coconut water ways" as soon as the weather's less chilly.

TikTokers are loving the recipe and are even making their own suggestions like caramelised banana, apples instead of berries and spicy honey.
