Motsi Mabuse has been brought to tears by Hamza Yassin's Strictly Come Dancing routine, saying "I never in my life thought I would see this on Strictly Come Dancing".

Nature cameraman Yassin and his dance partner Jowita Przystal took on the couple's choice genre this week and opted to celebrate Africa and Afrobeats in a joyful number to 'Jerusalema - Remix' by Master KG feat. Burna Boy and Nomcebo Zikode.

Viewers and judges loved their dance, which also included some incredibly complicated lifts that saw Przystal thrown high into the air, but no one was more affected by it than South African judge Mabuse.

She broke down in tears as she told Yassin: "I just feel like this is a very difficult dance to speak about. I feel like maybe sometimes some people will not even understand. I never in my life thought I would see this on Strictly Come Dancing.

"As you know I come from South Africa and you know the origins of so many of our dances, even today, Charleston, Salsa, Rumba, Jive, all of these dances from where they originated from and to have this acknowledgment on this big stage, to remind people we are here, we are dancing, we are celebrating and to see you do that, for me is such a special, special, special feeling."

Mabuse also praised Polish professional dancer Przystal for learning the dance, telling her: "Jowita, I think you should do a DNA test girl, I'm taking you with me dancing to Africa because if they see you dancing like that you're never coming back."

The other judges were also effusive in their praise, with Shirley Ballas saying: "I have no paddle in my little box which is deserving of that kind of number."

Anton Du Beke added: "You are sunshine, you are joy. Your body does ridiculous things. I'd like to come to you and I'd like you to teach me how to do those lifts, you are remarkable."

Viewers agreed, with one tweeting: "I think Hamza is the definition of happiness. What a beautiful, joyous routine. He’s come a long way, but he’s one of the most natural dancers I’ve ever seen."

Fans also appreciated Yassin's story about his love of wildlife helping him to overcome his struggles with dyslexia.

One person tweeted: "#Hamza's story is so inspiring and his family seem so lovely! And wow, that is one of my favourite couples choices ever! Absolutely loved it."
