These are the most popular names for babies born in March

March feels like a real moment of change. It signals another dark winter being left behind, with the days beginning to stretch out, and flowers starting to bloom. It's almost like we all, collectively, take a big sigh of relief come March.

But spring might not be the only arrival for you this March; if you're expecting a baby in the coming weeks, it'll be all systems go trying to get everything ready. And that includes picking a baby name, which we all know isn't the easiest decision in the world. Whether you know the sex of your baby, or you're keeping it a surprise, it can be tricky to decide on that final shortlist, so how about a helping hand?

We've combed through the latest data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), which gathers all the names given to babies born in England and Wales in recent years, to check out the most popular this time of year. The most current data available lists the top names for baby boys and baby girls born in 2019, so why not seek some inspiration from recent favourites among babies born in the month of March?
