The most beautiful vineyards in the world are just a short hop away
A French vineyard escape is one of the most delightful ways to spend a holiday in Europe - and we don't just mean for the wine! France is home to some of the world's most breathtaking vineyards and renowned wineries that make for a relaxing getaway, just a short hop from the UK.
SAIL TO FRENCH VINEYARDS WITH GH
Famous for its wine all around the world, it's highly-regarded tipple has earned it a reputation among the most respected connoisseurs and foodies. On a French vineyard break, you won't only have the chance to taste the best wines from the Champagne, Burgundy and Rhone regions, but can take in the marvellous countryside, chateaux and towns that complete a wine tour to these beautiful parts of France.
In fact, we're so enamoured by the vineyards of France that we're heading to the country this autumn to get our wine fix. In October, we'll be going on a French river cruise with TV chef James Martin and wine columnist Susy Atkins, which you are invited to join. The gastro-cruise on the Rhone River will take in Marseilles, Arles and Lyon, visiting vineyards along the way. We'll also be exploring Burgundy on an eight-day cruise in October, accompanied by antiques experts, Hilary Kay and Paul Martin.
A French vineyard holiday offers beautiful rural scenes and more. From the city of Reims (Champagne) and its striking cathedral to the beautiful architecture of Beaune (Burgundy), there are many scenic locations to explore while sampling world-class wines.
To show you why a French vineyard break is worth the trip, we've rounded up some of the most beautiful photos of France's fabulous vineyards.
