Sex can sometimes feel a little scary; maybe it's the first time with a new partner, or after a baby or a stint of abstinence. And even when you're not new, or just coming back, to the game, getting naked and contorting your body into weird positions is a pretty vulnerable thing to do anyway.
And you're not alone...
Beauty retailler Superdrug conducted a survey to find out which sex positions people were most anxious about trying.
Over 1,000 people in couples took part in the survey and voted the most nerve-wracking sex position to be '69 standing up'.
The 69 standing up position
This position involves a fair a bit of physical prowess from both people involved. Specialist website Kinkly describes the position as: "The standing 69 position is a difficult variation of the traditional 69. The best way to get into this position is by starting with the stronger and heavier partner sitting in a chair or on a bed. The lighter partner then puts their head into the lap of the heavier person.
The heavier partner can then manoeuvre the lighter partner into an upside down position. Both heads should be between the thighs of each partner. When in this position, both partners should wrap their arms around the other's waist. From there, the heavier and stronger partner can then stand up completing the standing 69 position."
No wonder those surveyed were nervous about taking on this challenging sex position! We're not sure we'll be risking our necks to try it anytime soon....
We asked our readers what their most nerve-wracking sex position was and most of them chose 'woman on top'. Your partner can literally see everything, so there's no where to hide, plus you need to use your body to support yourself and so getting into the right position can feel awkward too.
If you're looking for a nice, easy position to ease yourself in with (excuse the pun) then why not stick to missionary, with a few upgrades? It's straight forward, it's comfortable and this is how to make it the best sex of your life.
