The new Moschino collection was inspired by... smoking

Moschino wants you to get lit.

During the the fall 2016 runway presentation on Thursday, the often controversial Italian design house released a new capsule collection – featuring cigarettes.

Guests sitting in the front row at the show received a “fashion kills” iPhone case, which resembled an open package of cigarettes. This theme continued throughout the show with cigarette-inspired accessories, including handbags and earrings, clothing covered in burn marks and actual smoke. Like most Moschino shows, it was quite the spectacle.

And this isn’t the first time the brand’s creative director, Jeremy Scott, has found inspiration in everyday objects. For the spring/summer ‘15 show traffic signs played a big role, and who could forget the McDonalds-inspired ready-to-wear collection of 2014.
