This Morning saw the return of Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes for the summer on Monday (July 12).

This year has only seen the pair host occasional episodes so far, but now they'll be presenting for the next seven weeks while Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby go on their holidays.

"We’ve hosted so many This Morning summers now and we always look forward to it," Ruth said. "They are always a lot of fun the summer weeks, it has a slightly different vibe to it than the rest of the year.

"People are often tuning in on their own holidays, so we look forward to hearing where people are and they send us messages about what they are doing for the summer."

"It’s the only time we really get to see each other properly," Eamonn then joked.

The pair have their own ideas for who they would most like to interview during the summer too, and we're hoping that ITV is trying to make these appearances happen.

Ruth said: "It would be great to have Gareth Southgate on post the Euros. I’ve really followed his journey and I’m not a big football fan but he just seems very level-headed and I really hope it works out for the team, but especially for him."

Eamonn then chimed in: "Although more interestingly I think Gareth’s mother and father, if they are alive, or his brother who would give more insight.

"And that’s why someone like The Duchess of Cambridge would be on most people’s lists, but I’d like to interview her mum or interview her dad."

Ruth added: "I love Schitt's Creek and the guy that plays David Rose (Daniel Levy). I didn’t realise until I watched it that the whole idea was his and he wrote it. And Johnny in the series is his actual dad in real life!

"I saw a documentary about the making of the series and they just seem so lovely and funny, and I love the idea of the show and how it all comes down to family in the end, so I’d love to interview Daniel too."

Looks like we'll have to wait and see who the duo snag for a chat!

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10am.
