Alison Hammond is enjoying a very successful 2021 so far. The TV star made her debut with Dermot O'Leary on This Morning as Friday hosts last week, and now she's confirmed a new role on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Take Away.

Alison shared a photo of what looked like her dressing room door at the ITV studios which had an Ant & Dec Saturday Night Take Away sign on it, along with her name.

"Exciting !!!!!!!!! @itvtakeaway @itv," she captioned the photo.

The star didn't elaborate on what the role would entail, so we'll have to wait and see. The show isn't expected to return until Spring, but Ant and Dec recently confirmed that filming was underway earlier this week.

Fans shared their excitement at the news, with one commenting: "Alison Hammond on Takeaway, now this I’ve got to see!!"

Another added: "Alison, wow this is awesome!"

It was announced last year that Alison and Dermot would be taking over from Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes on This Morning on Fridays, while Ruth and Eamonn would still stand in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield during school holidays.

"I never dreamt that when I first joined This Morning – initially for a few months – that I would still be there 19 years later," Alison said of the news. "I genuinely care about the show and the viewers who watch, so it's a huge privilege and honour to be hosting a show I adore so much. I'm just really excited to be doing even more of what I love alongside the lovely Dermot."

This Morning airs on weekdays on ITV.
