The Morning Show is expanding its cast for season two, with The Good Wife star Julianna Margulies signing up for a role in the Apple TV+ drama.

Margulies, who played Alicia Florrick on The Good Wife for seven seasons, is set to play UBA News anchor Laura Peterson in the second season of the drama (via Variety), which stars Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon as The Morning Show hosts Alex Levy and Bradley Jackson.

No further details have yet been released about Laura, but we're intrigued to see how she fits into the mix, particularly as season one of the show ended in an explosion of drama when Alex and Bradley decided to expose some unpleasant truths live on air.

Margulies won't be the only new face on The Morning Show when it returns as Greta Lee and Ruairi O'Connor have also been cast as new series regulars Stella Bak and Ty Fitzgerald.

Aniston and Witherspoon will both be back in their lead roles, with Steve Carell also returning as Mitch Kessler and Billy Crudup coming back as Cory Ellison.

Also set to return are Mark Duplass (Chip Black), Nestor Carbonell (Yanko Flores), Bel Powley (Claire Conway), Karen Pittman (Mia Jordan) and Desean (Terry Daniel Henderson).

When the Emmy-winning drama returns there will be a lot for the characters to deal with following that big season finale.

The Morning Show began with the fallout of popular TV anchor Mitch (Carell) being accused of sexual misconduct and subsequently being fired, with his spot being filled by Bradley.

After 10 episodes of twists and turns, the first season ended on a dramatic note when Alex and Bradley exposed the UBA network live on air for creating a toxic culture and urged more people to speak out.
