Starting your day with a cup of coffee could bring more health benefits than a few cups throughout the day, a new study has suggested. Researchers monitoring long-term health, nutrition and lifestyle, found higher coffee intake was "significantly" associated with a lower risk of death, but only among people who drank coffee in the morning compared with those who drank coffee all day. The findings indicate that it is not only about how much coffee you drink, but when you drink it, that is important.
A new study has linked morning coffee-drinking to a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease – but our morning brew can help boost our health in other ways, too.
Drinking coffee only in the morning may help people live longer compared to drinking the beverage throughout the day, a new study suggests. Researchers from Tulane University analyzed dietary and health data from more than 40,000 U.S. adults from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey between 1999 and 2018. The early-in-the-day drinkers -- those who drank their coffee between 4:00 a.m. and noon -- had a 16% lower chance of dying from any cause compared to those who didn't drink coffee, according to results published Tuesday in the European Heart Journal.
