Mom accidentally gives toddler ‘Dumb and Dumber’ haircut: ‘It looks so bad’

A mom decided to give her little boy an at-home haircut, and the stunningly “bad” result has people cracking up!

Mom and TikToker Kat Kamalani (@katkamalani) wracked up nearly 200,000 views and hundreds of comments when she shared the final product of her attempted DIY haircut.

Now, just like the woman who shared the “life-changing” fart hack a 4-year-old taught her in Target, this mom’s video has people around the world crying with laughter.

In the video, Kat explains that her son’s hair was always getting in his face. So, in an effort to save time and money, she decided to give him a haircut at home.

“I mean, how hard could it be?” she asks herself in the on-screen text.

The video then cuts to Kat and her little boy in the family’s kitchen-turned-hair-salon.

“I’m so smart, this is not that hard,” Kat’s inner monologue reads across the screen.

Kat then begins snipping away, using a pair of regular old household scissors.

“Okay, this is harder than I thought. I’m praying this looks ok,” Kat’s text continues. “It’s going to look great. I’m so proud of myself.”

The video then cuts to Kat in tears with laughter. “I am crying and laughing at the same time. It looks so bad. He looks like Lloyd from ‘Dumb and Dumber.'”

Kat then reveals the final product: a shaggy, uneven cut, hilariously reminiscent of Jim Carrey’s infamous bowl cut as Lloyd Christmas.

“My husband is going to kill me,” Kat’s text reads.

Sure enough, the second her husband spots the at-home haircut, he’s floored.

“I’m going to buzz his flippin’ hair off. It looks terrible. It’s a freaking bowl cut. What the heck?!” her hubby cries as he walks in the door.

‘You tried Mama…’

TikTokers were quick to share their own similar experiences in the comments — along with some friendly messages of support.

“Omg! I did this last year for my son! I honestly felt so bad for my little guy!” one parent wrote.

“I can laugh because I did the same thing and my son was mortified. He put on a hat and we rushed to a hairdresser, LOL,” another parent laughed.

“I cut my son’s hair once and forgot to put the guard on… Years later and my son refuses to let me touch his hair,” shared one parent.

“Lmao I’m a hairdresser and I love when people actually realize that it’s hard to cut hair,” a hairstylist chimed in.

“Honestly, I’ve been thinking about cutting my son’s hair… but now I’ve seen this at the right time,” laughed one parent.

“He still looks adorable! Just sweep it to the side like it was in the beginning,” suggested one helpful TikToker.

“You tried Mama,” wrote one supportive viewer, a heart emoji in tow.

Even if Kat’s home haircut didn’t turn out the way she intended, it’s nice to know she can have a good laugh about it — after all, hair grows back! This is one hilarious memory that’s sure to stay with the family for a long time.
