Like any true Love Island fan, we like to hear about what the contestants are up to when the show finishes – and it's clear that Molly-Mae Hague's career has gone from strength to strength. But sadly, a higher level of fame does bring with it some downsides, many of which she's spoken out about in the past (such as receiving nasty comments about her body and the paparazzi following her and boyfriend, Tommy Fury).
Recently, while vlogging a shopping trip in Manchester, Molly-Mae unfortunately had an unpleasant experience when a group of men started shouting and heckling her. Speaking directly to the camera, the PLT collaborator said how it impacted on her confidence.
Initially telling viewers that she was heading into town to go to ZARA, the footage then jumps to a clip of Molly-Mae walking through a mall wearing a face mask. She says, "Guys, I’m like way too embarrassed to vlog out in public. I don’t know what has happened to me? My confidence has just gone!"
She adds that her trip was successful, but that she didn't feel comfortable filming in any of the shops. "I haven’t vlogged in any of the shops because everybody is staring at me. I’m going to have actually put the camera down guys, I’m sorry!"
Then, after finding a quieter area of the street to resume her vlogging, shouts can be heard in the background and Molly-Mae, who looks visibly upset, says, "Okay guys there are some men heckling me now. This is why I just cannot vlog in public guys, listen to this.”
Keeping a brave face, she then says, "I’m just going to ignore it, just ignore it... it’s fine" before shutting the camera off. Molly-Mae later, while sat in the back of a car, then addresses the shouting and says, "As you can see this is why I don't vlog in public... I don't know if you heard what those guys were shouting, I don't think you want to know what those guys were shouting but it wasn't great. I think I'll just wait and vlog when I get home."
The whole thing must have been pretty scary for Molly-Mae – it's never nice having randoms yell at you when you're just trying to do your thing. Let's hope they grow up soon!
