After graduating from Love Island into reality TV stardom, Molly-Mae spent a fair amount of time rocking the Love Island aesthetic (i.e. a super-tweaked face, super-blonde extensions, and super-white teeth).
But these days she's in pursuit of a more 'natural' look - she's not only dissolved her fillers, and also removed her extensions to reveal her natural short hair, and she's been pretty vocal about feeling she'd gone 'too far' with her highly optimised and groomed aesthetic.
Molly's even decided to remove the composite bonds on her teeth to reveal the natural teeth below - something she revealed in a recent TikTok. FYI: Composite bonding is a cheaper, less permanent alternative to full veneers, but can leave behind some sensitivity and other cosmetic complications if / when removed from the teeth.
And now Molly has opened up in a vlog about the entire experience, and the insecurities she feels as she reverts back to her pre-bond teeth.
"I now have my natural - slightly altered - teeth. As you can see they are still extremely yellow, I've got a bit of a situation with that which I'll explain..."
She then delved into a story about attempting to immediately whiten her teeth after the bond removals, which resulted with intense pain and sensitivity, which in turn has slowed down her whitening schedule. She elaborated:
"I wanted to be whitening my teeth really intensely because I have loads of work stuff coming up and plus I just don't really like the fact that my teeth aren't nice, crisp and white, they're more of like this kind of gold-y shade right now...but when I did try and whiten them, the extreme sensitivity that I had was beyond the kind of pain that I could even explain. It was genuinely like a migraine, because these teeth hadn't been touched for two years, and were so sensitive and delicate that going straight in for whitening, for me, was a bit of a silly idea."
She explained that she's going to "hold off from whitening for a bit", adding a disclaimer to her fans, asking them to hold their judgement while she strengthens her teeth enamel:
"So it is just going to be yellow teeth for now, but whatever, we can handle it for now. Hope you guys don't look at me and think I'm absolutely disgusting because there really is nothing I can do about it."
I don't know about you, but I'd swap for those natural teeth - even without whitening - in a heartbeat.
