Stretch marks are a common feature of many peoples' bodies, yet despite the fact that lots of us have them, they can still make us feel self-conscious. Whether we're looking at a fashion ad at a bus stop or browsing our friends' holiday snaps on Instagram, we're used to seeing images of smooth, stretch mark-free bodies presented as the 'norm'.

Thankfully, that's starting to change. Celebrities like Khloe Kardashian and Jameela Jamil have used their social platforms to normalise posting selfies with stretch marks while brands like ASOS have been praised for marketing clothes using a diverse range of models, some of whom are proudly showing their stretch marks.

But there's still a way to go before bodies in all their forms are celebrated as beautiful by everyone, so we're very much here for more stretch mark love on the 'Gram. Cue model and activist Jada Sezer, who recently shared an image of the stretch marks on her boobs to make an important point about self-love, away from picture-perfect social media feeds.

Jada posted a beautiful black and white shot of her chest, proudly baring her stretch marks, with a thought-provoking caption calling for more images of "lines, pores, 'flaws', wrinkles, scars, freckles, rashes and cellulite."

She went on to make an important point about social media's impact on our collective body image.

"This strange place that we scroll through daily is a platform designed to keep us fixated on things that grab our shortening attention and sadly ‘normality’ isn’t a captivating aspiration," she wrote.

"Admittedly, I love a playful filter but I’m not an avatar living in a computer. The way, I remember my worth, isn’t a ‘like’. [It] is by nurturing the things (mostly offline) that help me shine bright," she continued.

Jada ended the post by urging her followers to never dim down their own light, or try to blend in, and she encouraged them to share her post with anyone who needs a reminder about the importance of loving themselves just as they are.

In the comments, Jada's followers thanked her for the candid post and praised her for being beautiful inside and out.

Now this is the kind of Instagram post we are very much here for.
