Stockport County’s team to face MK Dons

In the County team

Former MK Dons loanee Louie Barry lines up for Stockport County this afternoon. Only got a single goal in League One for Dons last season, the Aston Villa man has four in four heading into today

Kick-off

Mo Eisa gets the game underway

5 mins: Great atmosphere

Both sets of supporters giving it their all in the early knockings here, but little to talk about in the way of action on the pitch.

The said, Leko wins a free-kick about 30 yards from goal, fairly central.

6 mins: Just wide

Eisa doesn’t get enough curl on the free-kick, it’s wide of the mark

7 mins: Tucker to the rescue

Oooooh a close call for Jack Tucker there. He gives the ball away to Olaofe, who breaks in behind but as he is about to shoot, Tucker has turned to recover, getting a vital interception in to deny the Stockport striker from pulling the trigger.

If he got his head up, he’d have spotted an unmarked Barry on the left-hand side who had the freedom of the box to work with.

11 mins: Norman forced a save

Decent move there, Harvie’s cross is deep over Norman’s head but Gilbey doesn’t give up on it, he recycles, pulls it back to Norman again who shoots but Hinchliffe dives to his left to save.

The corner comes in, causes a bit of chaos as Norman and Robson have shots blocked close to source before the keeper eventually gathers.

18 mins: GOAL - Barry opens the scoring

Dons just could not clear their lines there. Stockport put the defence under a little bit of presure, but it’s Ibou Touray’s defence-splitting pass which finds Louie Barry who takes his time and can pick his spot to bend it past MacGillivray and give Stockport the lead.

It’s 1-0

22 mins: Midway point in the first-half

After that goal, Dons have had the air knocked out of them a bit, but they’re starting to settle again.

Not a lot of chances at either end really but that strike is the difference.

26 mins: GOAL! Dons are back in it

They hadn’t showed a lot of signs of retaliation from MK Dons after going behind, but in winning a corner, Robson delivers deep to Smith, who heads across goal for returning Eisa to prod home!

It’s 1-1

34 mins: Good chance for Dons

One of those trademark runs from Gilbey but he takes it on a touch too far, the Stockport defence can get a touch in to take it off his toe, it comes out to Robson who bends it over the top, just as he did at this sort of time last week. Should have scored

36 mins: Big hit

Big clash of bodies between TOmmy Smith and Will Collar - both needing treatment, Smith not looking too happy about his left ankle

38 mins: Dons should be ahead

Oh what a chance for Mo Eisa! A wonderful ball over the top from Devoy, Eisa beats the offside trap and prods goalwards and it looks for all the world as though it should be the second, but it hits the post!

So close. Dons should be in front.

41 mins: Chance for Stockport

MacGillivray gets enough on Touray’s cross to divert it’s course, but the ball looks like it’s dropping for Collar at the back post to fire in, but Harvie gets a vital touch to put it behind for a corner

Stoppage time

Four minutes to be added on before the break.

Jonathan Leko is not moving well, he’s been on the deck off the ball, and Ellis Harrison is prepped and ready to come on.

45+2 mins: GOAL - County retake the lead

Well as the sides looked to be heading in all-square at the break, Stockport retake the lead. It’s a good cross from Southam-Hales as Nick Powell wanders in between O’Hora and Norman to power his header past MacGillivray

Stockport ahead 2-1

HALF TIME: MK Dons 1-2 Stockport County

A sucker punch at the end of the half as Powell heads Stockport back in front.Pretty even game prior to that - Eisa with a great chance to put Dons in front after equalising too.

Entertaining game but Dons trail at the interval
