Miu Miu's collaboration with New Balance is back
Miu Miu is clearly no stranger to a viral fashion moment. If you’ve been on social media, or glanced at the cover of a magazine in the past year, you’ve undoubtedly seen The Skirt – khaki in colour, knife-pleated and perilously short, if you need a refresher – but it’s less likely you’ve witnessed it in the wild.
While many of the season’s most intensely coveted pieces are, honestly, low scorers when it comes to everyday wearability, Miu Miu’s latest behemoth drop is pleasingly practical – and thus sure to sell out.
This month, the house’s collaboration with New Balance returns for a second season, following last year’s clean sweep. (In fact, the debut drop didn't last past the pre-sale.) First seen on the spring/summer 2022 runway in 2021, the artisanal trainers are as coveted as they come, and have just landed in five new colourways.
Each design is a reworking of New Balance’s inimitable 574, combining the comfort and function of the original design with Miu Miu’s intricate craft – and, of course, that coveted logo writ large on the tongue. Nappa leather is gently faded, while denim is left raw-edged and stonewashed for a worn-in effect.
And if you’re still thinking about the skirt? Even more good news: it now comes in an office-safe midi length.
