Mindy Kaling is serving neon perfection this summer.

The 42-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday to share photos of herself shining in a neon orange maxi dress featuring a tear-away design. Kaling paired the flowing Christopher John Rogers piece with a gold chain link necklace from Jenny Bird and multi-coloured open toe Sophia Webster heels.

Marc Mena styled the "Mindy Project" creator's hair in a long single braid draped over her right shoulder, while makeup artist Eva Kim gave the star a summertime glam look.

Kaling kept things simple by captioning her post with four orange heart emojis.

Fans and fellow stars filled the "Never Have I Ever" and "The Sex Lives of College Girls" writer's post with love for her vibrant look.

"Oh, this is perfection," commented "X-Men" actress Olivia Munn.

"You honour, your honour, she's slaying," a fan replied.

"Major slay," added another.

"You always look so effortlessly put together and beautiful," someone chimed in.

"Love to see a powerful brown queen slaying it!" said one fan.

"Tangerine dreams. You are gorgeous!" another raved, adding an orange heart emoji.

On Saturday, the "Late Night" star and producer learned she was earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as part of the "Class of 2023 Honourees." Kaling joins a swath of other stars being recognized on the Los Angeles landmark this year, including Uma Thurman, Ellen Pompeo, the Jonas Brothers and Lenny Kravitz.

"This is crazy. I am so honoured," Kaling wrote in her Instagram post about the news. "I grew up watching people I admire so much receiving stars and I never thought I would join them. It inspires me to work harder and dream bigger!

Several fans on social media noted the importance of Kaling earning her rightful place on the star-filled strip on Hollywood Boulevard.

"Um, is Mindy Kaling the first brown girl to get a star on the Walk of Hollywood? #Itsbrownoclock," wrote one person on Twitter.

Another fan penned a tweet explaining they came across Claire Danes's star and were reminded of Kaling from a quote the actress said in one of her early television roles: "As a true Mindy Kaling fan, I remembered her dialogue from 'The Office.' Now, I get to know that Mindy is going to make it to the walk! Congratulations, Mindy! Thank you for paving the way for Indian Americans!"
