Mindy Kaling, 43, just stepped out of her 'comfort zone' in a daring mini dress

Mindy Kaling just shared a series of photos of herself looking fit and strong in a gorgeous white strapless dress, and they’re kind of everything.

“I never wear winter white! I was always so worried about it not being flattering and also about dropping food on it,” Mindy shared in the caption, before noting that her stylist “took me out of my comfort zone” with a strapless mini and satin blazer. “I loved it! No red wine stains anywhere!” she said. “Here’s to trying more new fashion risks this year! 🥂”

The pics show Mindy looking a little uncertain as she models the dress before the final photo features a beaming Mindy feeling herself as she should.

Her famous friends cheered her on in the comments. “WOW WOW WOW WOW,” said Olivia Munn, while Octavia Spencer simply dropped in to deliver this: “🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.”

Mindy shared with SELF in May that she’s learned to enjoy exercise and, as a result, she’s the “healthiest I’ve ever been.”

But that hasn’t always been her mindset around working out. “In my 20s, I thought working out was only effective if it was very punishing, you hated it, and it was kind of solitary,” she said. “And you had to look a certain way after doing it.”

Now, Mindy shared, she prefers shorter workouts like going on a 15-minute walk. She also tracks her activity and typically walks three to four miles a day. That’s not ~all~ she does, though: Mindy will also do things like strength training, yoga, and group fitness classes.

Last year, Mindy shared what she eats in a day with Women’s Health, and it’s so relatable. Breakfast is usually on the go, and consists of what Mindy calls a “liquid salad” smoothie of spinach, banana, kale, lemon, pear, a bit of apple, cucumber, celery, and coconut water or tap water. For lunch, she’ll usually have a turkey sandwich.

Mindy tries to go low-carb in the evening and will often have fish.

“I know that eating salmon is, like, the actress’ way to be healthy, but I can’t eat salmon more than twice a week, so I try to mix it up with a different fish,” she said. She’ll usually pair that with some kind of organic grain. And, when fish isn’t on the menu, she may order Ethiopian or Korean takeout, or cook chicken curry with cauliflower rice.

Overall, though, Mindy said she’s pretty much open to eating anything. “I think I’m the only person in L.A. without dietary restrictions,” she joked.

Winter white looks good on you, Mindy!
