Miley Cyrus lands Gucci fragrance campaign

Miley Cyrus has been named as the face of a new Gucci fragrance.

The singer and actress has been tapped by the Italian luxury fashion house to front a fresh scent called Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia Eau de Parfum, reports WWD.

Miley appears in a series of campaign shots and a video directed by Petra Collins to promote the perfume, much to the delight of Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele.

Alessandro is a huge fan of the star, describing Miley as "an artist with a spirit that is both rock 'n' roll and eclectic at the same time."

He is confident she will be a perfect fit to front the campaign as she embodies Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia Eau de Parfum and the story behind the scent.

Images from the campaign will be unveiled in the run-up to the release of the fragrance, which will be available to buy on the Gucci website from 30 July and in stores and perfumeries worldwide from 1 August.

Miley is the latest in a long line of stars lending their name to the luxury brand. Singer Harry Styles has been a long-time ambassador for Gucci and was the star of the Gucci Mémoire d'une Odeur campaign.

Jared Leto and Lana del Rey have also worked with the company, as well as Florence Welch, who appeared in adverts for Gucci Bloom alongside Anjelica Huston and Jodie Turner-Smith.

Miley has made no secret of her affection for Gucci, having worn a custom-made sequin cropped T-shirt featuring Alessandro's lucky number 25 for her Super Bowl LV TikTok Tailgate preshow performance in Tampa, Florida, earlier this year.
