Michelle Yeoh Wore The Edgy Shoe Trend That's a Winter Season Must-Have
Her winter style is all about balance.
Even though I flew down to Florida from New York to celebrate the Lunar New Year, I still haven't been able to escape the freezing temperatures. The Sunshine State is currently sunny as can be but man oh man is it cold. After spending most of my January (why is this the longest month ever?) in the gray and gloom of the city, I'm ready to venture outside this weekend and enjoy a few jaunts around my hometown for winter outfit inspiration I'm taking a page out of Michelle Yeoh's style book.
On January 23rd, the Wicked star was seen arriving at the CBS Mornings show in New York City wearing an outfit that combined hard and soft, while looking seasonally appropriate for the chilly weather. Yeoh confidently walked into the show wearing a black belted cashmere Balenciaga coat featuring big, bold rounded shoulders and a tie belt that extenuated her waist.

Her accessories included black sunglasses from the brand with gold logo hardware, a cerulean blue scarf wrapped at the neck, and our favorite part of the whole look—combat boots. But not just any combat boots. Hers were from Roger Vivier and were given a ladylike upgrade thanks to the oversized gold buckle at the ankle. Choosing a shoe style known for its hard and tough exterior was the perfect way to give balance to her more soft and rounded outerwear.
Plus, the gripping nature that the lug soles of combat boots can provide is ideal for those winter outings when rain and ice can make the lack of foot traction a precarious situation. No matter what side of the country you're traveling to, combat boots are a must-have for those who don't want to stay cooped up inside and would rather spend their time enjoying the great outdoors bundled up with their feet firmly on the ground.
