Michelle Yeoh dedicates her SAG Award to " every little girl who looks like me"
At last night's SAG Awards, Michelle Yeoh made history as the first Asian woman to win the female actor in a leading role category, which she dedicated to "every little girl who looks like me".
The Everything Everywhere All At Once star left no dry eye in the house with her acceptance speech, as she stood on stage wearing the most striking couture gown by Schiaparelli.
"I think if I speak my heart will explode," Yeoh told the audience. "SAG-AFTRA, to get this from you, who understands what it is to get here. Every one of you knows the journey, the roller coaster ride, the ups and downs. But most importantly, we never give up."
She continued: "I thank you for your love and support, because I know I'm up against titans and rightly so. Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is not just for me, this is for every little girl who looks like me. Sally Field, you said all the right things – that we are here because we love what we do and we will never stop doing this because we love it.
"Thank you for giving me a seat at the table because so many of us need this. We want to be seen, we want to be heard, and tonight you’ve shown us that it is possible, and I’m grateful. And my mom will be eternally grateful to you."

It's been quite the month for Yeoh, who also won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Evelyn in the sci-fi/adventure film, in which she must connect to herself across multiple universes to save existence.
Yeoh gave another moving acceptance speech then, saying: "Forty years, not letting go of this. It’s been an amazing journey and an incredible fight to be here today, but I think it’s worth it.
"This is also for all the shoulders that I stand on, all who came before me, who look like me, and all who are going on this journey with me forward."
