Michelle Obama is the epitome of class. So, obviously, her next career move simply had to be with puppets…

Michelle has announced that she’s got a brand-new cooking show coming out, and it looks brilliantly mad.

America’s former first lady is releasing a cooking show for kids on Netflix. Waffles + Mochi is a 10-part series launching on Netflix on 16th March. The cooking show for little ones will feature Michelle, alongside her puppet pals – yup, you guessed it – Waffles and Mochi.

The show will highlight the important of home-cooking over ready meals. Michelle plays a supermarket owner who meets residents of The Land Of Frozen Food: Waffles and Mochi. It’s up to her (and her magic shopping trolley, which takes them all across the globe to learn about food from around the world) to help her new pals achieve their dreams of becoming chefs.

Speaking about the new show, Michelle said: “I only wish Waffles + Mochi had been around when my daughters were growing up.

“Because it's the kind of programme that's fun to watch together as a family, and gives parents the peace of mind to know that their little ones are learning something, too.”

She added that she felt like filming a series like this is “an extension of my work to support children's health as first lady.”

Check out Waffles + Mochi on Netflix from 16 March.
