Michelle Keegan's face glows like she drank a pint of liquid sunshine instead of her morning coffee.

And sure, a lot of people give off that vibe on Instagram, under the balmy effects of a few filters and the good lighting that you get in the corner of your bedroom at about 7.30am. But this is real life at tea time in central London, the fireball in the sky set a few hours ago and here I am, basking in her luminosity.

WH spoke to the 33-year-old Stockport native a while back, to mark her (then) fresh appointment as an ambassador for Nouveau Lashes. A long time 'obsessive' of their LVL lash lengthening treatment, she had made it official and is set to feature in an upcoming campaign with the all-things-pretty-peepers brand.

So. How would she describe her every day look? 'Simple, natural and low maintenance.' As to her number one piece of complexion advice? 'Know your skin. I know that mine changes in different climates, so I'll adjust my products to suit that. Oh – and always wear SPF.'

Naturally curious as to her exact skincare and make-up routine, we asked the former WH cover star to talk us, blow-by-blow, through what's on her bathroom shelf.

Michelle Keegan's beauty routine: skincare

1/ Cleansers

'I've got two cleansers and I always flit between the two. One is The Body Shop vitamin E cleanser. I always feel like I’m giving something nice to my skin when I use it – and, I can tell the difference once I take it off, my skin is really rejuvenated and dewy.'

'The other is the Elemis foaming cleanser. It goes on your skin really nicely.'

2/ Toners

'I sometimes use an Elemis toning spray after I’ve cleansed. Especially in the morning, to give my skin a bit of oomph.'

3/ Moisturiser

'And I love Weleda Skin Food. It's heavier and I wear it at night, about three times a week.'

4/ Face masks

'I use sheet masks. My favourite is a Charlotte Tilbury one, which is like a dry cloth but when it soaks into your skin it almost turns to an oil.'

'Then Simple ones as well, they do a great hydrating sheet.'

5/ Face oils

'At night I like to use a recovery oil by Kiehl's – that’s really soothing.'

Michelle Keegan's beauty routine: treatments

1/ Lashes

'I started having Nouveau Lashes LVL done about five years ago. A friend recommended it to me because I was going away on holiday and I don’t tend to wear a lot of make-up when I'm away. I mentioned to her that I was going to maybe get individual lashes put on, and she mentioned the treatment – she told me that it lasts for eight weeks and lifts your lashes up from the root so you get length, volume and lift. I've been obsessed ever since.'

2/ Nails

'I do like my nails done when I'm not filming for a while. Just natural though – nothing too fancy. I'll get gels done, in a nude.'

3/ Facials

'Not really. I get worried about them in case my skin breaks out, as it's very sensitive. I'm at a point where I know the right products for me and so I don't really want to change my routine.'

Michelle Keegan's beauty routine: make-up

1/ Primer

'I start with Laura Mercier's primer, the oil-free one, as my skin can get greasy.'

2/ Foundation

'I use a brush to apply my Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation, which feels light on my skin – I like to feel that my face can breathe.'

'But I also like the oil-free Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser, which has SPF 30 in it.'

3/ Bronzer

'I always use Benefit Hoola bronzer, but more for contouring.'

4/ Lip balm

'I've always got loads on the go as I use balm everyday. At the minute, I've got it's an Eve Lom one.'

'But a classic pot of Vaseline is always great shout.'
