Michael Jordan docu-series turned Emma Stone into a basketball obsessive

ESPN's Michael Jordan docu-series The Last Dance has turned Emma Stone into a die-hard basketball fan.

The actress has always admired the game and its stars but "something flipped" while she was watching the 2020 series about Jordan's Chicago Bulls and now she can't get enough of her hometown Phoenix Suns as they compete in the National Basketball League playoffs.

The Cruella star was spotted at a game last week and told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, "This is a new thing for me. I've always loved basketball. I watched The Last Dance with Michael Jordan and something flipped in my brain and body, and I was like, 'This is just the most incredible sport'.

"So now I'm a next level Suns fan. I'm from Phoenix... I'm all Suns all the way."

The new mum admits her trip to see the Suns take on the Los Angeles Lakers was her first "big event" since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Emma's team completed a remarkable 4-2 series victory over the Lakers this week to take one step closer to the NBA playoffs - the first time a side featuring LeBron James has been dumped out in the first round of the playoffs.
