With rumours circulating that Michael B. Jordan will soon be donning a red cape to play Superman, we couldn't help but wonder, what exactly would that look like?
Are we talking Adonis Creed ripped here or swole like Black Panther's Erik Killmonger? Well, according to Jordan's trainer Corey Calliet, who's worked with the star for the past seven years, we can expect Jordan's Superman to be a mixture of everything that's come before.
"He will look like all of them," says Calliet. "He will definitely be bigger than he's ever been, because you need to look like a hero. You need to look like a man, man."
At the minute, Superman is still played by Henry Cavill, who according to Calliet has set the benchmark for what the character should look like. But, he says, if he ever gets the chance to train Jordan for the role he would want him to "look better than that".
"I love superhero movies," says Calliet. "When I can look at a superhero movie and see someone like Henry Cavill as Superman, I'm a grown man of size, but I respect him and I kind of look at him like a little kid. You get excited.
"If you can't get that effect out of a person, out of a grown man, then you're not doing it right."
While playing Superman would obviously be a massive step in Jordan's career, Calliet says that it'd be a big deal for him too. "I mean that's the goal, you know, to be able to say I trained Superman," says Calliet. "I'm going to get a shirt that says 'I'm Superman's trainer' if that happens."
Right now, this is all speculation, and we don't know whether Jordan will ever play Superman. One thing is for sure though: if he ever does get the opportunity to play the Man of Steel, as Calliet says in his American twang, looks wise at least: "It's gonna be nice."
Michael B. Jordan is currently staring in Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, which is available to watch on Prime Video now.
