The new Meta Quest 3S headset is on sale for Black Friday from £275
The Meta Quest 3S mixed reality headset launched in October, offering impressive VR and AR at a friendlier price point.
It’s a lower-spec, lower-cost alternative to the flagship Meta Quest 3 – but that doesn’t mean to say the 3S lacks quality.
Early reviews have praised the headset’s fast processing, excellent controllers and extensive catalogue of downloadable games and applications. And, as this is a standalone device, you don’t need an additional computer or console to use it.
We were pleasantly surprised to see the Meta Quest 3S has some decent discounts for Black Friday 2024, just one month out from its launch. We’ll explain the deals from retailers including Argos and Currys below.

There are two versions of the Meta quest with different amounts of on-board storage for games and applications:
The only difference is the amount of storage space you get. If you want to minimise time spent downloading and managing the games on your 3S, then it could be worth buying the 256GB version – but the 128GB headset is just as good in all other respects.

Argos has applied a similar Black Friday discount to both versions of the 3S, so which one to choose really depends on your budget, and how much you care about the extra storage.
In case you’re wondering, it’s called a mixed reality headset because it features both augmented reality (AR) experiences where virtual graphics are layered over a view of your real surroundings, as well as full VR experiences. To simply call it a VR headset would be to undersell it.
£275 is super-cheap for a capable mixed reality headset – so if you and your family fancy taking a trip to some virtual or augmented realities this winter, now would be a smart time to head to Argos and start your voyage with the Meta Quest 3S.
