Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas make their Met Gala debut as a married couple

Where better to make your red carpet debut as a married couple than the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the first Monday in May?

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas made their first public appearance since their surprise Vegas wedding at the 2019 Met Gala, looking more loved-up than ever.

The newlyweds wore coordinating printed ensembles by Louis Vuitton, featuring colourful geometric patterns.

Game of Thrones star Turner opted for a chic jumpsuit, while her husband kept things low-key in a patterned polo neck jumper and dark trousers.

Turner wore her hair slicked back, with a smattering of silver hairspray.

They were joined at the event by Jonas’ younger brother Nick and his wife Priyanka Chopra.

The couple walked down the aisle of the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas shortly after the Billboard Music Awards last week, and were married with the help of an Elvis Presley impersonator.

The surprise ceremony was attended by a handful of the couple’s famous friends, including Khalid and Diplo, who documented proceedings on Instagram, sharing videos of Turner wearing a white jumpsuit and veil.

Another clip showed the couple exchanging vows, with Turner telling Jonas: “I love you and I thank God he gave me you.”

Country stars Dan and Shay serenaded the newlyweds with their hit Speechless.

Turner’s mother Sally revealed that the actress had phoned her moments before the ceremony took place.

“Sophie did call me before,” she told MailOnline. “She said, ‘Mum, I’m getting married in Vegas.’

“I am absolutely delighted and so is my husband Andrew.”

It was previously reported that the pair were planning to host a festival-inspired wedding extravaganza in France.
