Mercury Prize 2023: the nominees arrive at the Hammersmith Apollo

The 2023 Mercury Music Prize is underway, and as the nominees enjoy an hour or two before the nerves kick in, the audience is gathering at the Eventim Apollo, ahead of a projected 8pm start time.
BBC 6 Music has already begun their coverage of the ceremony, while BBC 4 will broadcast the final moments of the event, with a projected time of a winner announced shortly after 10pm.

Forty years after recording the song that came to define both her and the 1980s power ballad, Bonnie Tyler still remembers the reaction of her rival for the track.
Bob Geldof is to bring the story of how he organised Live Aid to the London stage next year. The 1985 concerts were organised by Geldof and fellow musician Midge Ure to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia. They popularised the idea of staging huge stadium gigs with multiple artists for charitable causes. The new musical, called Just For One Day, will feature songs by the likes of Queen, U2, Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney and Sting - all of whom performed at Wembley Stadium that day. It
As pop star Maggie Rogers powered through her headliner set at this weekend's All Things Go festival she teared up, telling thousands of screaming fans it was a rare moment onstage in which she felt "seen."All Things Go, which this year included headliners Rogers, Carly Rae Jepsen, boygenius and Lana Del Rey, does not specifically market itself as female- or queer-friendly.
