Melania Trump met Prince Harry this weekend in what was her first solo overseas duty as US First Lady. The meeting took place in Toronto ahead of the opening of the Invictus Games on Saturday.

Harry is the first member of the royal family to meet with the Trumps since the US election, after plans for the president to come to the UK were delayed. The prince spent just half an hour in Trump's company before leaving for his next engagement.

According to the Telegraph, Melania thanked Harry for coming before the two discussed the success of the Invictus Games - an international Paralympic-style sports event for injured, sick and wounded service personnel. They posed for photographs which will be shared around the world to promote the event.

The royal will later meet with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Today is also rumoured to be the first time Harry and girlfriend Meghan Markle will make their first official public appearance as a couple.
