Melania, Ivanka, Tiffany: Trump women go understated and monochromatic for inauguration
Monday, as Donald Trump took his oath in the Capitol Rotunda to become the 47th president, the high-profile and influential women stood with him stood out with their monochromatic fashion choices.
Supporting him by his side and seated behind him was his family, who sported luxury outfits to brave the D.C. cold and to embody poise as the first family. The women of the Trump family all wore muted, monochromatic looks, in contrast to the powdered blue and white dresses they wore during his first inauguration ceremony in 2017.
Here's what you need to know about their looks Monday.

What did Melania Trump wear to Inauguration Day?
The First Lady wore an American designer Adam Lippes for the occassion. The navy skirt and jacket were topped with a wide brimmed hat that covered her eyes.
The large hat with a white stripe caused a stir online since it shielded her eyes. The look was an uncharacteristic and simply style choice for the former model.

What did Ivanka Trump wear to the inauguration?
Ivanka Trump, 43, stood to her stepmother's left as Trump was sworn in to office. She wore a forest green pencil skirt with a thin black belt over an asymmetrical wrapped jacket and paired with black heels. Her hair, pulled in a low bun, donned a beret-like matching green hat. The former advisor accessorized with a Lady Dior bag.
Ivanka's 13-year-old daughter Arabella Rose Kushner continued the monochromatic look in a camel cape coat with a matching thick belt and matching gloves.
What did Tiffany Trump wear to the inauguration?
Trump's second daughter, Tiffany, 31, wore a navy blue, floor-length velvet coat dress. The daughter of Trump and Marla Maples is expecting her first child with husband Michael Boulos. Her outfit, supported by minimal jewelry, contrasted to her glam makeup and lashes, and fit in with the minimalist ensembles sported by the other members of her family.
Did Kai Trump attend the inauguration?
Kai Trump, 17, the granddaughter of Trump and daughter of Donald Trump, Jr. wore a muted gray mock turtle dress neck underneath a black overcoat. Kai made her political debut on stage at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin last July.
What did Lara Trump wear to the inauguration?
Trump's daughter-in-law, former Republican National Committee co-chair and wife to Eric Trump, Lara, opted for an equally subdued outfit, wearing a navy blue, fitted overcoat with large silver buttons and black Christian Louboutin high heels.
What did Usha Vance wear?
While not part of the Trump family, Vice President JD Vance's wife clearly got the memo.
The mother of three looked glam and understanted in a monochromatic look: a pale pink coat with matching scarf, gloves and luxurious suede beige boots.
At the vice president's dinner Sunday, Vance wore a custom noir velvet gown from Oscar de la Renta, per a post from the fashion house, which added that it had "asymmetric floral accents and a sweetheart neckline."
Since it's custom, the price is unknown, but a quick search on Oscar de la Renta's site shows velvet gowns between $5,290 and $7,290.
