Mel B rushed to hospital with broken ribs and 'severed' hand
Mel B has shared a picture of herself on Instagram after she suffered numerous severe injuries. The 43-year-old explained on the photo sharing app that she has broken several ribs and ‘severed’ her hand.
“Suffering 2 broken ribs a severed right hand needing emergency care, to having had to have over a 3 hr surgery to repair the damage hence the purple sling,” she wrote.
She added that the injuries have forced her to pull out of the New York leg of the promotional book tour for her memoir, Brutally Honest.
“I’ve had to unfortunately cancel my book signing today in NY, I apologise to each and everyone one of you who bought there [sic] tickets to meet me today😩,” she explained.
While she detailed the extent of her injuries and the pain they’ve caused, she wasn’t clear about how they happened.
“I’m absolutely gutted but I can assure you it WILL happen at a later date,I promise! For now My right arm/hand is all stitched up and I’m trying to keep still to heal my broken ribs, ohhh the pain.

“But I’m in super safe hands with the care of everyone here at the hospital!!!!! Thank you all for understanding,I love you all #accidentshappen #needtimetoheal #hospital.”
However the hashtag ‘#accidentshappen’ indicate that the injuries were likely a cause of a freak accident.
The Spice Girl has barely been out of the headlines over the past few weeks. The singer, along with Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Mel C, announced in early November they would be embarking on a world tour.
This followed weeks of Mel B promoting her memoir, which includes harrowing accounts of her ex Stephen Belafonte allegedly abusing her mentally and physically.
