As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prepare to welcome their new baby girl this summer, Meghan just wore a necklace that some think holds a special message for their daughter.

In a pre-recorded video for Global Citizen's Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World, Meghan shared a a powerful speech about gender equality. For the event, she wore a demure Carolina Herrera red poppy shirt dress (still available to buy at Farfetch, if you've got a cool £2,200 lying around). She wore her hair in neat curls, parted on the side and tucked behind one ear to reveal some shoulder-grazing earrings.

Her necklace is by jewellery brand Awe Inspired, and Meghan is wearing the "Woman Power Charm Necklace." According to the brand, the necklace "combines the female Venus symbol with a protesting fist. It is embellished with a genuine purple amethyst, a protective stone associated with abundance and enlightenment." Very fitting.

In her speech, she discussed the serious challenges faced by women all over the world during the pandemic. Said Meghan, "With the surge in gender-based violence, the increased responsibility of unpaid care work, and new obstacles that have reversed so much progress for women in the workplace, we're at an inflection point for gender equity." How on-message is her necklace?

She went on to say, "My husband and I are thrilled to soon be welcoming a daughter. It’s a feeling of joy we share with millions of other families around the world. When we think of her, we think of all the other families around the globe who must be given the ability and support to lead us forward. Their future leadership depends on the decisions we make and the actions we take now to set them up and to set all of us up for a successful, equitable, and compassionate tomorrow."

It sounds like her necklace carries a message of hope and empowerment that she wishes her future daughter, and women around the world, will be strengthened by. Plus, the brand says the necklace is made with ethically sourced materials, and 20% of proceeds are donated to charities helping women in need. How cool is that?

The necklace retails for £94 in sterling silver, or £101 in gold vermeil.

We love to see it.
