There's no doubt that Meghan Markle's trim figure - even during much of her pregnancy - has been the envy of many.

But while Duchess of Sussex, 37, is famously a fan of yoga, and has been reported to have got husband Prince Harry into clean eating, one fitness expert believes she works harder than that to stay in shape.

The new royal mum - who gave birth to baby Archie earlier this month - is said to be a fan of a tough workout that uses a strength-building machine inspired by a Pilates reformer bed which incorporates weights-based exercises.

Sebastien Lagree, who is nicknamed the 'torturer to the stars' after founding the celebrity favourite Studio Lagree, has revealed that his classes are behind Meghan's toned body.

Sessions involve participants using a 'megaformer bed' to do a series of slow, multi-targeting exercises.

The French-born trainer - who counts Michelle Obama, Ashley Graham, the Kardashians and Victoria's Secret models among attendees - admitted he didn't know he had a royal fan until Meghan told Women's Health in 2017 that she visited his London studio.

At the time, the then-actress said: "'It is hands down the best thing you could do for your body.

"You keep coming back for several reasons: first off, your body changes immediately... give it two classes and you will see a difference; the people in class are cool, unpretentious, and motivating."

Sebastien, who has opened over 400 studios worldwide, revealed that he hopes the mum-of-one will continue to use his workout even after Archie's birth.

"I suspect Meghan does it about three times a week," he told Femail. "She looks like she's very committed."

He continued: "You don't bulk up; it's about strengthening and tightening and sculpting your body, which you can tell Meghan has done.

"I had people coming up to me saying they want to look like Meghan.

"Meghan said you only need to go to the class a couple of times to see a difference, and I think that's part of the appeal."

The trainer said his class is ideal for new mums and can also be done by women during pregnancy.
