Meghan Markle 'sent' Idris Elba a 'playlist' before he DJ'd her royal wedding

Meghan Markle had major input when it came to the playlist at her royal wedding reception.

The former "Suits" actress married Prince Harry in May 2018, and the party following their nuptials was a lively, star-studded affair featuring the likes of Serena Williams, Oprah Winfrey, George and Amal Clooney and Idris Elba, who actually DJ'd the after-party to their wedding.

While Elba has remained fairly tight-lipped on his experience at the royal wedding, the actor sat down for an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra this week, where he was asked about his set at the reception.

"A lot of tunes went off," he said. "Meghan sent me a playlist with some bare tunes on it."

When the radio hosts pushed him to reveal more information about what was on the playlist, he hesitated but said that "there was some West Coast on it. That's all I'm saying."

"I'm not gonna put their business out like that, that's not fair," he added. "Ask Meghan and Harry."

He did reveal that he played "I Want to Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston, though.

Earlier this year, Elba revealed on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" how his unexpected DJ gig came about.

"So Harry and I, we’ve hung out a couple of times through his dad’s charity, The Prince’s Trust, helped me out as a young actor," he told Ellen. "And so I do a lot of work with them; met Harry and William a few times. And Harry came to a couple of parties that I DJed and he was like, 'Hey man, what are you doing on that date?' And I go, 'Ah nothing.' And he goes, 'Hmm, would you DJ at my wedding?'"

"I was like, 'Is this a joke? Are you joking?'" he laughed.

Evidently, Prince Harry was totally serious.
