While it may appear that Meghan has been keeping a distance from her father’s side of the family, it turns out Duchess of Sussex has actually been making secret visits home to see her mum.
The royal couple have made several low-key visits to Doria’s bungalow, the neighbour revealing she has been there to stay on more than one occasion since her relationship with Harry went public.
“Meghan will always come back to Doria, this will always be her home,” the source told The Sun.
“I even saw him here once, but it’s not my place to say any more.”
It’s unclear when exactly the visits took place, but it was rumoured that Harry joined Meghan on a stopover visit during their tour of to Australia and New Zealand last year.
The source said Meghan will always be a “mommy’s girl” and the bond between daughter and mother hasn’t disappeared since Meghan moved to England to join the royal family.
Doria has also visited Meghan and Harry in England several times, both privately and for public occasions, including for the launch of Meghan’s cookbook in September.
The 62-year-old was even rumoured to be preparing to move to the UK to be with Meghan, and closer to her grandchild.
It’s well known that Meghan has a great relationship with her mum, who was the only member of the former actress’ family to attend her wedding in May.
The pregnant Duchess of Sussex regularly wrote about her childhood on her blog, The Tig and even once revealed the cute nickname her mum gave her.
According to The Express, in a post dated August 6, 2016, she marked her birthday with a Q&A about herself, in a section usually reserved for interviewing other celebrities.
“My team and I thought it may be fun to turn the tables on me and have yours truly answer the very Tig Talk I crafted when I first started this site,” she wrote.
Meghan revealed in the post that she had several nicknames, including Meg, MM and M+M and that her mother Doria has called her ‘Flower’ since she was little.
