Meghan Markle Paid Tribute to Princess Diana

From House Beautiful

Meghan Markle looked radiant in a matching white coat and beret during her first official public appearance with the Queen of England for Commonwealth Day. But her white and navy blue ensemble wasn't just a chic fashion choice for the event she attended with her fiancé Prince Harry and future siblings-in-law, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.

Meghan's white beret was designed by Stephen Jones, a favorite milliner of Princess Diana, who wore a black beret designed by him in 1982. This subtle fashion homage didn't go unnoticed by eagle-eyed fans of the future royal, according to Time.

The late princess was such a fan of berets, she was photographed several times in the '80s wearing various styles of the French hat.

But that wasn't Meghan's only style homage to the people's princess. Her white coat was designed by Amanda Wakeley, a British designer that Princess Diana often wore and is still a favorite of Kate Middleton's, Vogue reports.

While Meghan's no stranger to fashion, we love seeing that she's letting her future in-laws - and some of our favorite fashion icons - inspire her sartorial choices now.
