When Kate Middleton married Prince William she was reportedly very particular about ensuring a certain Jo Malone candle was burning while she walked down the aisle at Westminster Abbey – and it seems Catherine isn't the only royal who's smitten with the British perfume and home fragrance brand.

An old interview with Meghan Markle has resurfaced, in which the now Duchess of Sussex shared her beauty secrets with The Express newspaper way back in 2016. At the time, Meghan was appearing in Suits, writing her now obsolete lifestyle blog, The Tig and about to go on her first date with Prince Harry in London.

'Fragrance is my favourite thing—so much so that if I leave the house and I don't put any on, I'll turn around and go back home,' Meghan told The Express.

'I alternate between a few scents. I love Oribe Côte d'Azur Eau de Parfum and both the Wild Bluebell and Wood Sage & Sea Salt Colognes by Jo Malone.'

Meghan also revealed the contents of her make-up bag at the time: 'I always use Touche Éclat Radiant Touch Concealer by YSL under my eyes, a Dior black eyeliner and a Nars mascara. I love Charlotte Tilbury lipstick, too – my favourite is Very Victoria.'

Meghan also shared her love for a budget beauty buy, admitting she had been a fan of Nivea Q10 Plus Skin Firming Body Lotion 'since school'.

Interviews like this are now rare, but at the time Meghan loved to detail her favourite new beauty and fashion finds on her blog. Upon joining the royal family, the Duchess deleted her Instagram account and The Tig.

The Sussexes have since stepped down as senior royals and moved to LA with their young son, Archie. The Times recently reported that Meghan and Harry have also decided to step back from social media, after Meghan was relentlessly trolled.
