Meghan Markle got a shady mention at her ex-husband Trever Engelson's stag do

From Cosmopolitan

Meghan Markle is now happily married to Prince Harry, with a royal baby on the way. So you'd be forgiven for forgetting that the Duchess of Sussex was once married before to somebody else - TV producer Trevor Engelson.

But Trevor Engelson certainly hasn't forgotten about Meghan - or at least his friends haven't, according to recent footage that's emerged from the 42-year-old's stag do. A video, which was recently obtained by the Daily Mail, shows Trevor's friends making a speech for the groom-to-be at his recent bachelor party in Miami.

In it, one of the producer's friends toasts with a glaringly obvious (and arguably shady) reference to Trevor's ex-wife, Meghan.

"This right here... this right here is to royalty, you know what I'm saying? Royalty won, royalty lost... But regardless baby, we got to keep going!" he says.

Although Meghan Markle isn't mentioned by name, as the only person Trevor has ever in theory "lost" to "royalty", having married into the British royal family in May last year, it's a fair suggestion that the friend might be referring to her.

Trevor's stag do, which involved a weekend cruising around on a yacht and a boozy lunch at Miami restaurant Prime 112, comes just two months before he marries nutritionist and heiress Tracey Kurland on May 11.

And it's not the only apparent mention Meghan got at the stag do. Later in the video, the same friend can be heard saying: "If it wasn't for Trev, then I wouldn't believe that I could marry a future Princess, man.

"What princesses are available right now?" he continues.

While Trevor's reaction to the Meghan references isn't visible on camera, the producer does at one point in the video say: "It's an emotional day."

Trevor was previously married to now-Duchess Meghan between 2011 and 2013, after the couple had dated for seven years. They married in a ceremony in Jamaica, but it's thought their split occurred as a result of the increasing popularity of Suits, which meant the couple were separated as Meghan filmed in Toronto, Canada, while Trevor remained in LA.

In a blog uploaded to her now defunct website The Tig in 2013, shortly after the divorce, Meghan Markle posted a passage written by Portuguese self-help author Jose Micard Teixeira about moving forward following the split. Likely reflecting Meghan's own emotions at the time, the author's words read:

"I have no patience for cynicism, excessive criticism and demands of any nature. I lost the will to please those who do not like me, to love those who do not love me and to smile at those who do not want to smile at me."

Trevor and Tracey's wedding in May follows their engagement in October last year, when Trevor proposed in California's wine country following a year of dating.
