Between Amal Clooney's hairstylist that is/isn't doing her hair, whether she'll be wearing the Queen's favourite Essie nail polish and just who is the lucky designer creating her wedding dress, it's safe to say our appetite for all things Meghan Markle and the royal wedding is endless.

The latest update from the wedding of the year? Exactly which make-up artist will be working with Meghan for the most important lewk of her life.

Rumours of candidates auditioning for the role have been swirling for months with a Youtube video of Markle doing her make-up in the back of a cab under the guidance of Bobbi Brown leading many to think that the legendary make-up artist will be the final choice.

Others are tipping Princess Diana's make-up artist and Laura Mercier's UK ambassador Mary Greenwell as the one to watch.

In a recent interview with People, Lydia Sellers, Markle's make-up artist who worked with her from 2015-2017, said that she thinks Markle 'will go with a classic, timeless look similar to what we have seen her wear lately. Natural, dewy-looking skin, with her freckles peeking through, a sheer pink lip and a daytime smoky eye with beautiful volume in her lashes.'

Sellers knows Meghan's make-up preferences better than most, does this mean she's in the running? It's anyone's game.

Or is it?

Insiders are convinced that Meghan will shun a professional make-up artist altogether, opting instead to copy future sister-in-law Kate Middleton who famously did her own make-up for her wedding to Prince William in 2011.

As any royal fan will know, Middleton broke from tradition for her nuptials by choosing to do her own make-up after taking lessons from Arabella Preston.

And it seems Meghan is feeling the DIY vibe as well, with insiders reporting that the Suits actress has chosen a pair of close friends to do her make-up, in place of a professional.

'She’s got two friends doing it for her from America. They’re not professionals – just close friends of hers,' the insider revealed to Express.co.uk exclusively.

'They are coming to stay at Windsor Castle ahead of the wedding, where they will be put up in the staff accommodation.'

Asking your friends to help you with your make-up on the big day? Now that's what you call relatable.
