The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have returned to the red carpet in style. Prince Harry and Meghan attended the Salute to Freedom Gala in New York on Wednesday night (10 November), which honours military veterans for their service.

For the occasion, the duchess wore a striking red gown designed by Carolina Herrera, featuring a deep neckline, dramatic train and fitted bodice. She styled it with burgundy pumps by Giuseppe Zanotti and added some red-carpet sparkle with Cartier and Birks jewels.

Prince Harry also dressed up for the evening in a classic black tuxedo. Both completed their outfits with red poppy pins to mark Remembrance Day.

This week proves that Meghan remains one of the most elegant royals to take style inspiration from; she also wore a sleek all-black look for a panel appearance in New York.

While appearing as a guest on the New York Times' DealBook Online Summit, Meghan discussed the importance of economic and professional parity for women, wearing a black crew-neck knit jumper, matching black trousers, a statement belt by Salvatore Ferragamo, black pointed-toe pumps. She relyed on her signature fresh beauty look of a subtle smokey eye, nude lip and flushed cheeks.

During the panel, she discussed the importance of paid leave, which she recently wrote an open letter to Congress about.

'This is one of those issues that is not red or blue,' she notes. 'We can all agree that people need support, certainly when they've just had a child. We have a five-month-old baby, so it is a sensitive one for us. We had the luxury of having had that time — not just for moms but also for fathers as well — to be with our newborn.'
