Meghan and Harry already have cute plans for their new baby's arrival
Although there's still a few months to go until her arrival, we're already probably just as excited as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are for Baby Sussex 2.0 to make her way into the world. During their interview with Oprah Winfrey, the couple revealed that their daughter is due in the summer and new reports say they've already got some super cute plans in the works.
As well as outlets such as Vanity Fair reporting that the Duchess of Sussex will be opting for a home birth this time around, the publication also says sources have informed them that Meghan and Harry will both be "taking leave" after the birth.
It's believed the thinking behind this decision is so that they, along with their son Archie, can spend "proper time" bonding. "They will both take some proper time off," the source (referred to as a friend) said. "It will be the summer and they want to make sure they both take their leave so they have some real quality time together once the baby arrives." How lovely!
Following Archie's birth almost two years ago (he'll be turning two on 6 May, quite unbelievably!), the Duke's paternity leave sadly only lasted for a few days, as he had a work commitment to fly out to in the Netherlands. Shortly after giving birth, Meghan was also very busy working away on her clothing line for Smart Works and guest editing Vogue.
It's thought Meghan already has a beautiful gift waiting for her daughter one day too – back in 2015, while speaking with HELLO!, the Duchess (then known only for her acting career, rather than anything royal-related) shared that when she heard her TV show, Suits, was being picked up for a third season, she treated herself to a Cartier French Tank watch, something she'd long had her eye on.
"I've always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch," Meghan said. "When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which, at the time, felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version."
She also added that she had the special piece engraved with a little message, making it all the more personal. "I had it engraved on the back, 'To M.M. From M.M.' and I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That's what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them."
