She has labelled people's views 'uneducated' in a searing clapback on Instagram.
The backlash against the Jennifer's Body star came after she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and recounted visiting the UFC match between Connor McGregor and Dustin Poirer with boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly on July 10, at which the former president was also in attendance.
Speaking to guest host actor Arsenio Hall when appearing on the show earlier in the week, Fox recalled how when Trump - who is still wearing a red tie and a suit to such events - entered the arena, the reaction of the crowd was largely positive.
'He was a legend, that arena was very supportive of Trump when he came in,' she explained. 'I don't know how I feel about it because if someone is a target then I'm like "I could be harmed because I'm adjacent to where he is" so I was worried about my own safety, that's what I was caring about.'
Following the comments, various Conservative blogs ran with the headline that Fox said Trump 'was a legend'. The 35-year-old also then received criticism from other factions, for calling the controversial former president a 'legend'.
On July 14, Fox took to her Instagram Stories to clarify what she said in the interview, noting that it was not her opinion but 'an observable fact' that he was received like a legend by the crowd.
'I never said Donald Trump is a legend,' Fox wrote. 'I said he was a legend.. in that arena (key part of that sentence). The arena was filled with UFC fight fans. Many of them clearly Republican based off the insane crowd reaction he received walking into the T-Mobile venue.'
Standing up for herself, Fox continued sarcastically: 'Really loving this uneducated, mid-evil, pitch fork carrying, burn a witch at the stake mentality though. The world needs more of that,' accompanied by heart and kiss emojis.
