Megan Fox has defended her six-year-old son’s right to wear dresses to school, saying he should be confident “no matter what anyone else says”.

The Hollywood star has three sons with actor Brian Austin Green - Noah, six, Bodhi, five, and three-year-old Journey.

Noah has been photographed out in a Disney dress, and last year Fox shared a picture of him dressed as a zombie cheerleader for Halloween.

The images sparked a torrent of criticism from fans slating the actress for letting her son wear dresses.

Appearing on The Talk (reported by Buzzfeed), she said Noah sometimes picks dresses to wear to school but gets laughed at by the other boys.

She said: “Sometimes, he’ll dress himself and he likes to wear dresses, sometimes.

“And I send him to a really liberal, hippy school, but even there - here in California - he still has little boys going, ‘Boys don’t wear dresses,’ or ‘Boys don’t wear pink’.

“So, we’re going through that now, where I’m trying to teach him to be confident no matter what anyone else says.”

She continued: “He just wore one two days ago to school, and he came home and I was like, ‘How was it? Did any of the friends at school have anything to say?’

“And he was like, ‘Well, all the boys laughed when I came in, but I don’t care, I love dresses too much’.”

Beverly Hills 90210 star Green has also been vocal about his son’s right to wear what he wants.

In 2017 he was asked during an interview with Hollywood Pipeline whether he and Fox were affected by people commenting on Noah’s wardrobe.

“My son, he’s four,” he replied. “I’ve heard from some people that they don’t agree with him wearing dresses. To them I say, I don’t care. He’s four and if he wants to wear it, then he wears it.

“And it’s dresses or goggles or slippers or whatever.

“It’s his life, they’re not my clothes... I feel like at four, at five, that’s a time when he should be having fun. He’s not harming anyone wearing a dress.

“So, if he wants to wear a dress, awesome, good on him.”
