Megan Fox Is Bringing This Y2K Hair Accessory Back

Actress and author Megan Fox recently debuted a fiery red bob hairstyle, and the vibrant and bold hue totally suits the Jennifer’s Body star. Not only do we love the cut and color, complete with eyebrow-skimming fringe, we also adore the way in which Fox has been accenting her new hairdo lately.
Butterfly clips were the go-to hair accessory for us ’90s babies, and the 37-year-old movie star appears to be bringing them back—but with a modern twist. Rather than the bright, tiny and plastic clips many of us rocked on the elementary school playground, Fox’s are age-appropriate, not to mention adorable.

She wore a trio of realistic three-dimensional butterfly clips in her hair for an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show last week. In addition to the blue-and-purple hair accents, Fox also accessorized her brown suit jacket and shorts ensemble with an ear chain and several studs.
A few days earlier, the mom of three appeared on the TODAY Show to promote her new poetry book, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous, where she opted for another throwback hair accessory: an oversized sparkly pink bow clipped into her bright locks.
Whether or not other celebrities will be adopting similar old school hair accessories into their autumnal wardrobes, seeing Fox rock these clips and bows gave us a major sense of nostalgia. It also served as a great reminder that fashion should be fun, and expressing ourselves extends to fun and funky hair accessories.
