Meet the new Taskmaster class of series 19
The Goliath of comedy, Greg Davies, is back on his throne to put a fresh batch of celebrity contestants through the wringer. Joined by his trusty sidekick, Little Alex Thorne, The Taskmaster will be setting the sanity-testing challenges we’ve come to know and love on a new cast of comedian hopefuls. Say hello to Taskmaster series 19.
Drawing stars from The Good Place and Strictly, this year’s line-up is one to watch. Putting their strength, wit and dignity on the line, this new batch of willing hopefuls will be at the mercy and whim of The Taskmaster, vying for his favour throughout the carefully constructed – and totally insane – challenges.
So who's actually taking part? Meet the Taskmaster class of series 19...
Ghosts star Mathew Boynton
A fan favourite from the hit show Ghosts, Mathew Boynton – or Dean from Gavin & Stacey to some of us – is also known for his role in the Horrible Histories troupe. Boynton is a bit of a boffin and a barrel of laughs a sure fire combination for Taskmaster success.
Podcaster and former Strictly contestant Rosie Ramsey
Joining him is podcaster and broadcaster Rosie Ramsey, who may be hoping for some tips from her husband and co-host of the Shagged Married Annoyed podcast who was a contestant in series 13 back in 2022. Or perhaps she'll be drawing on her dancing skills from her time on Strictly Come Dancing in the same year.
The Good Place's Jason Mantzoukas
Flying in from the US to compete is The Good Place's Jason Mantzoukas. Also known for his kooky character in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Mantzoukas is bound to bring an eccentric approach to the tasks – which have in the past included hurling yoga balls in a theme park, force-feeding Alex a bowlful of bubble gum and searching for a seal.
Stand-up comedian Fatiha El-Ghorri
Known for her appearances on Live at the Apollo and The Jonathan Ross Show Fatiha El-Ghorri will also be putting her wits to the test. She is no stranger to a game show, joining fellow comedian David Mitchell for a series of the survival-based show Outsiders.
Sketch comic Stevie Martin
Stevie Martin's show was a huge hit at the Edinburgh Fringe and she'll be channeling this success into the new series of challenges. Martin also has some Taskmaster connections up her sleeve; her co-star on Starstruck, Rose Matafeo, is not only a Taskmaster Veteran but at the helm of Channel 4’s spin-off Junior Taskmaster. But will it help her curry favour with Greg? We’ll be watching to find out.
The line-up is one of the best we've seen and there's no doubt the raucous, belly laughing antics we've come to expect will be delivered in full force in the upcoming series. The BAFTA winning show will air soon on Channel 4 and will be available to stream internationally on the Official Taskmaster YouTube channel and Taskmaster SuperMax+.
