A Big Mac from McDonald's is like a rite of passage for us Brits. It's the one, staple menu item that's been around forever, been reimagined more than once (Grand Big Mac, Chicken Big Mac) and always satisfies when a burger craving hits.
So, you can imagine how excited we were after finding out that there might be a way we could get our hands on the burger favourite, for less...
According to an ex-McDonald's employee and as featured on Birmingham Live, apparently all you need to do is quite simply ask for a Double Cheeseburger, dressed with all the Big Mac additions. That's extra lettuce, pickles, onions, mayo and mustard. Et voila, a Big Mac for less!
All the extras can be added in for free, costing you absolutely nothing and saving you around £1.60 each time. Talk about clever?
Obviously it's not your original Big Mac, and doesn't include the glorious Big Mac sauce, but it is a pretty darn smart hack, especially if you're looking to spend a little less on fast food these days.
If you're keen to get your hands on the freshest fries possible to go with your DIY Big Mac, then we've got just the trick...
Johnny, who runs Instagram account @cakemail, has shared a hack that is so simple, we wonder why we haven’t been doing this the whole time.
He says that if you order fries from McDonald’s and ask for them without salt on, they will be cooked fresh as all the fries that are ready to go will have salt on them already. Genius!
