McDonald’s Is Adding a Brand-New Meal to Menus

And it's available all day.

If there’s one thing McDonald’s knows how to do, it’s keep us coming back for more—and make utterly delicious food, of course. Typically, we’re taking return trips to the Golden Arches because we can’t get enough of its McFlurrys or burgers—and, more recently, its $5 meal deal. However, sometimes, the one thing many customers flock to the fast food restaurant for isn’t a Big Mac, but rather, its collectibles.

Let us remember those viral Canadian Squishmallow Happy Meal toys that U.S. customers practically begged Mickey D’s to bring stateside. Or the adult Happy Meal toys that were selling for almost $40 online. And those are just McDonald’s items that have been released in the past two years.

The Happy Meal toys of the ‘80s, ‘90s, and ‘00s are much hotter commodities. McDonald’s truly understands its fans, which is why the brand continues to bring back old-school, fan-loved items (hello, Boo Buckets).

McDonald's New Collector's Meal

To honor its customers and their love for McDonald’s keepsakes, the fast food restaurant is adding a new Collector’s Meal to the menu. Each meal will include one of six cups reminiscent of past beloved McDonald’s items.

The collectible cups include Barbie and Hot Wheels; Beanie Babies; Coca-Cola; Hello Kitty and Peanuts; Shrek, Jurassic Park, and Minions; and McDonald’s.

“There’s an undeniable thrill when you snag that one elusive McDonald’s collectible or the final piece to complete your collection. We’re bringing back some of our most-loved keepsakes with a twist, giving fans a memory that they can hold in their hands,” said Morgan Flatley, Global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of New Business Ventures at McDonald's. “These new collectible cups commemorate some of our most unforgettable designs and global collaborations over the years, allowing longtime fans to relive treasured moments and helping a new generation make their own lasting memories.”

The cups are available in two Collector’s Meals: a breakfast version and a lunch/dinner version.

The Collector’s Meal served during breakfast hours includes a sausage McMuffin with egg sandwich, hash brown, and hot coffee. The Collector’s Meal served the rest of the day includes your choice of 10-piece McNuggets or a Big Mac, French fries, and a soft drink.

McDonald’s Collector’s Meal hits menus on Aug. 13 for a limited time. It’s unclear how long you’ll have to build your collection, so if you want all six special-edition cups, you’d better start your hunt soon.
