Any Vampire Diaries fan knows how much of a big deal the annual Miss Mystic Falls pageant is. For those unfamiliar with the tradition, it's basically the town's annual formal event, with local contestants donning their best evening dresses for a night of glam, dancing and, inevitably, vampire torment. Anywhoo, Elena Gilbert (played by Nina Dobrev) frequently appeared at the pageant, wearing all kinds of evening gowns. But the actor's latest IRL look, a daring red cutout dress, would likely not meet Mayor Lockwood's strict dress code. We, however, are huge fans.

Overnight, Nina attended the 2022 amFAR Gala in Cannes wearing a truly incredible gown. The floor-length number, designed by Mônot, features a single sleeve which turns into a glove, while the other arm remains completely sleeveless. Cool huh? Then there's the asymmetrical neckline, below which sits a major cutout across the bust, kinda like a werewolf scratch, but make it fashion. Nina finishes the 'fit with a jewel-encrusted choker style necklace, hoop-like earrings and matching stacked rings.

As for beauty details, the actor wears her hair back behind her ears, with a bronze-toned eyeshadow, a warm neutral lipstick and a baby pink manicure:

The red cutout dress is Nina's second incredible look in as many days, with the actor stepping out earlier this week in a black, semi-sheer corset dress:
